Hegel once again

There is certainly more than a grain of truth to the idea that the Enlightenment is a metaphysically transposed theology, the grand onto-theology. Hegel indeed has been (and is being) read in this vein, as the grandest theorist of this white mythology of the Logos, the Word of God made flesh resurrecting itself into Universal Rationality as the end of History. by Debashish on Sat 02 Dec 2006 02:24 AM PST Permanent Link
The French reception of Hegel has long been deeply influenced by Heidegger's interpretation of his great German predecessor. According to this interpretation, Hegel is a thinker of the past, in two important and related senses: offering a philosophy that is oriented toward the comprehension of history, and which cannot speak of the future, Hegel himself is a figure of merely historical interest, from whom the future has nothing to expect. -- by William Dudley
We are all the inheritors or the descendants of Marx, of Heidegger, and a few others, and we often, perhaps always, have lived, for many decades, in the reassuring certainty that the Hegelian legacy is over and done with. -- Jacques Derrida
To say, with Heidegger, that Hegel never speaks about the future amounts to saying that Hegel does not have a future. The present work contests the validity of Heidegger's assertion. -- Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel
As far as secular modernity goes, the "integral" tendency began with Hegel, and has been a continuing trend in western philosophical and scientific thought ever since. -- Alan Kazlev
Postmetaphysical thinking appears to coincide with the movement away from metaphysical philosophies of reflection of which Hegel is understood to be the final innovator. -- Note by EE
